The Fortress

True to its name, the luxurious and tastefully-designed Fortress unfolds inside tall solid walls. The building design and the interior furnishings successful blend traditional Dutch, Portuguese and Sri Lankan architecture with contemporary Avant Garde design. The property is situated on Koggala Beach, one of the south coast's most expansive, sandy beaches. The hotel, which opened in 2006, is managed by the renowned Per Aquum Resorts & Spas, a group most famous for their luxurious properties in the Maldives and Seychelles. Five types of accommodation are available, including rooms, lofts and residences. All rooms are furnished with sumptuous 7ft. x 7ft. super king-size beds dressed in Egyptian cotton linen and an additional day bed that can be used for a child. Each room has a/c and overhead fan, Plasma TV, Bose DVD player and sound system, in-room safe, IDD phone, Espresso machine, and private bar. The ensuite bathrooms have rainfall showers and baths.
